South Africa in six days: Cape Town with an Italian-speaking guide, from the Cape Peninsula to the penguins of Boulders Beach, then two nights in a tented camp in the private Timbavati reserve, next to Kruger. The price covers the international flight, ground services and insurance.

Why it is unique

Two South Africas in one short trip: the city between the ocean and Table Mountain, with private tours in Italian, and a safari in a private reserve unfenced from Kruger, where the vehicles can leave the tracks to follow the animals.

When to go

Cape Town is at its best from October to April, in the southern summer. The safari around Kruger is best in the dry season, from May to September, when the vegetation thins out. Departures run from mid-January to the end of November.

What the trip is like

Two days of guided tours in Italian in Cape Town, then a domestic flight to Hoedspruit and two nights of safari with the camp’s guides, in English. A short trip that is easy to extend with more nights at the Cape or the Garden Route.

Good to know

Italians need no visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days, with a passport that has at least two blank pages. Cape Town is malaria-free; Timbavati is in a low-risk area, so discuss prophylaxis with your doctor. The international flight lands in Cape Town and returns from Johannesburg; the Cape Town–Hoedspruit and Hoedspruit–Johannesburg domestic flights are also included. The “from” price applies from May to July; from January to April and from August to November it costs about €140 more per person. Departures run from 15 January to 30 November. Children of all ages are welcome, but under-6s cannot join the game drives.

  1. 1Day 1Arrival in Cape Town

    Welcome at the airport and private transfer to the Romney Park Hotel, where an Italian-speaking assistant hands over your documents and explains the trip. Bed and breakfast in an apartment.

  2. 2Day 2The Cape Peninsula

    A full day with the Italian-speaking guide: the Seal Island cruise, Cape Point, the penguins of Boulders Beach and Kirstenbosch botanical gardens. Lunch included. Bed and breakfast at the Romney Park Hotel.

  3. 3Day 3Cape Town, its history

    Half a day with the Italian-speaking guide at the places of the country’s history: the District Six Museum and the Gugu S’Thebe cultural centre in Langa, passing through the Bo-Kaap. Free afternoon. Bed and breakfast at the Romney Park Hotel.

  4. 4Day 4Flight to Kruger

    Transfer to the airport and flight to Hoedspruit. Transfer to the Shindzela Tented Camp in the private Timbavati reserve. Afternoon game drive. Full board with safari activities.

  5. 5Day 5Timbavati

    Game drives at dawn and dusk in an open vehicle. Full board at the Shindzela Tented Camp.

  6. 6Day 6Timbavati and Hoedspruit

    A last game drive at dawn, breakfast and transfer to Hoedspruit airport for your departure flight.

How and when do I pay?

The quote is free. On confirmation you pay a 30% deposit, and the balance 45 days before departure, by card or bank transfer, with no extra fees. Your money is protected by the package travel law.

Do I need insurance?

It is already included: it covers medical expenses, baggage and cancellation. The terms are in the proposal.
