Weltweg was born of a simple idea: you don’t travel to Africa with a catalogue, you travel with someone who knows the place. We design journeys for those going for the first time who want to do it properly: ready-made itineraries in Tanzania, Kenya, Zanzibar and Madagascar, and tailor-made trips in Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe, and in other African countries on request.
Why only Africa
A company that sells the whole world cannot know in depth the seasons, parks, distances and properties of a continent this varied. We chose to do just one thing: to know when a park is worth visiting, how many hours of track separate two lodges, which camp is worth the supplement and which isn’t. It is knowledge we also share with everyone, free of charge, in our guides and in the month-by-month planner.
How a journey comes to life
- You tell us what you have in mind, using the trip planner, on WhatsApp or by email: dates, travellers, what you simply can’t miss.
- We propose an itinerary with named properties, the recommended season and a clear total: what is included and what is not.
- We refine it together until it is truly your journey: days, pace, properties, beach extensions.
- Confirmation and documents: contract, flights, insurance, and a list of everything you need before departure.
- During your journey you have our contact details and those of our local partner, for anything at all.
Who we work with
In every country we work with local partners: on-the-ground agencies that provide guides, vehicles, lodges and camps, and who know the territory better than anyone. We choose local operators over large chains, so that the money stays where the journey takes place. For every itinerary we tell you clearly what is private and what is shared, which language your guide speaks and which properties you will stay in.
What we believe in
Transparent pricing. We tell you what is included and what isn’t, and when a supplement isn’t worth the money, we say so. The prices you see include flights and insurance, except for the extensions indicated.
Africa as it really is. Not only wildlife and sunsets, but people, cities, markets, languages and stories: our journeys leave room for encounters, not just sightings.
Honesty about the seasons. We tell you when a period is not ideal, and also why it is sometimes worth going anyway.
Your guarantees
Every journey we sell is a package holiday, the arrangement most protected by European and Italian law: a single party responsible for the entire trip, a protected price, assistance during your stay and protection in the event of insolvency.
