Our prices range from €3,120 per person for seven days in Kenya to €8,550 for the luxury version of Serengeti and Zanzibar. These figures include ground services, international flights from Italy and insurance: not teaser prices to which everything else is then added.
What drives up the bill
In order: accommodation, which can double the total between a comfortable lodge and a luxury camp in the Serengeti; the number of travellers, because vehicle and guide are shared, and two people pay much more each than six; the time of year, with high season making a considerable difference; and internal flights, which save hours on the track but come at a cost.
Where it pays to spend
On a private vehicle: it is the difference between deciding your own day and putting up with someone else’s. On internal flights when the alternative is seven hours of dirt road, especially with children. On the location of the property: sleeping inside the park rather than outside means an extra hour of light at dawn, which on safari is worth more than a bigger room.
Where it doesn’t
On luxury categories when you sleep two nights and head out at dawn. On supplements for experiences you can have anywhere. And on packages that promise guaranteed sightings: no one can control them.
What is not included
The entry visa, which varies by country: $50 in Tanzania, $30 for the eTA in Kenya, €30 in Madagascar (up to 15 days), about €80 in Namibia. Where compulsory, the local health insurance: $44 in Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar. Then tips, roughly ten dollars a day for your guide, drinks with meals and personal expenses.
How payment works
A 30% deposit on confirmation, with the balance thirty days before departure. If you cancel more than thirty days before departure the deposit is retained; within that, the cancellation charge is 100%: that is why cancellation insurance is included in all our journeys.
