A week on Nosy Be with four boat excursions to the nearby islands: the sandbar of Nosy Iranja, the lemurs of Nosy Komba and Nosy Antsoha, the Nosy Tanikely marine park and the turtles of Nosy Sakatia. Italian-speaking guide, picnic lunches included.
It is the simplest way to see the best of Nosy Be without arranging anything locally: every outing by shared boat with an Italian-speaking guide and a picnic lunch, a tour of the island with sunset from Mont Passot over the volcanic lakes, and two full days by the sea.
A single base in one hotel, with no repacking. Nosy Iranja, where a kilometre of white sand joins two islands; Nosy Komba with its black lemurs and craft market; snorkelling among corals and turtles in the Nosy Tanikely marine park; Nosy Sakatia, where sea turtles graze on seagrass in the shallows.
From May to November the sea is calm and there is little rain; between September and December whale sharks may be seen offshore. Between January and March is cyclone season.
The entry visa, €30 per person, is not included, nor are lunches on the days of arrival and departure. The stop at Nosy Antsoha depends on the tides.
Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel, arranged by the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
A two-hour boat excursion to Nosy Iranja, where a kilometre of dazzling white sand joins two islands. Lunch in the shade beside the fishing village. On the way back, tides permitting, a stop at Nosy Antsoha among the lemurs.
A close encounter with the black lemurs of Nosy Komba and its craft market, then snorkelling in the protected Nosy Tanikely marine park among corals, tropical fish and turtles.
A half day on the island of orchids: snorkelling, forest walks and the bay where sea turtles graze on seagrass in the shallows.
A guided tour of Nosy Be: the town, the plantations and the climb to Mont Passot for sunset over the volcanic lakes.
A free day on the beach.
