Characterized by rolling savannah landscapes dotted with majestic baobab trees—some of which are over 2,000 years old—Tarangire is home to the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania. Large herds can often be seen gathering along the Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline.
During the late dry season, the park boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the entire continent, offering extraordinary game-viewing opportunities. Lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and numerous bird species are frequently spotted during the safari.

The oldest and largest national park in Tanzania, Serengeti covers an impressive area of 14,763 square kilometers. Its name derives from the Maasai word Siringet, meaning “endless plains” — a perfect description of the vast, open landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see.
The park is world-renowned for the Great Migration, when immense herds of wildebeest and zebras move across the plains in search of fresh grazing. Serengeti is also home to large prides of lions and numerous predators, including hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, jackals, and crocodiles, offering exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities throughout the year.

The endless grasslands are occasionally interrupted by striking granite rock formations known as kopjes. These ancient outcrops serve as strategic lookout points for predators, particularly lions, who often rest atop the rocks or use them as cover while observing potential prey.
Along the rivers, you may spot crocodiles and hippos, as well as numerous animals gathering to drink. Leopards are also frequently seen lounging gracefully among the branches of the characteristic umbrella acacia trees.

You will descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, situated at approximately 2,200 meters above sea level. This vast, unbroken caldera is the largest of its kind in the world and one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural wonders.
The crater is home to around 30,000 resident large mammals throughout the year, including buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs, and the rare black rhino. The area also hosts a remarkable variety of birdlife, such as flamingos, eagles, buzzards, ostriches, and falcons.
